Designed for Adults with Special Needs 

Blue Light Program created a full-time day program for adults with intellectual disability and/or autism spectrum disorder. Our special needs program is designed to help an adult with a developmental disability acquire the necessary skills to integrate and participate in society to their fullest potential. We are now accepting applications for a limited number of spots.

Programs 

  • Problem-solving and decision making skills

  • Stress management

  • Communication skills

  • Time management

  • Use of public transport

  • Social skills

  • Autonomy development: health and hygiene, nutrition and physical education.

  • Sexuality and anatomy

  • Computer technology skills

  • Work integration program (1 or 2 times per month)

     

Criteria for admission;

  • Must be 20 years and older

  • Ability to function in a class room and work environment

  • Ability to function in a multi-sports setting

  • Independent living skills (basic hygiene, self-dressing, eating alone)

  • Ability to follow a program

 

 

If you are interested in submitting an application to Blue Light Adult Program, you must:

 

  • Forward all evaluations and reports concerning your child to the day program: (example: psychiatry, psychology, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, ABA, child development clinic, report cards, IEP – Individualized Education Plan)

 

A representative from the board will then contact you either by phone or by email to do the evaluation of your child's file.
